One of only five of the elegant Canadian Pacific Railway business cars, the ‘Van Horne’ made a visit to Minnedosa to help the community celebrate Railroader’s Day.

Over 1100 people of all ages, including two families from Austria who were just passing through town, took advantage of the free west bound train rides which ran from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

C.P.R. employee Darren Nagorski oversees the operation as others took the opportunity to see just how far a little elbow grease could get you down the Minnedosa Yards. The little ‘pump car that could’ was borrowed from Tanner’s Park and no doubt enjoyed the chance to once again travel down the rails as it was designed and built to do so many years ago.
